Learn Skype!
- You will first need to set up an account on Skype. Go to http://www.skype.com. For the purposes of this call, you will want to sign up for their free service. Find this section, and go to the "create an account" button.
- When you have finished filling in the account information, press "download now". This will create a Skype interface on your computer that should reside in your toolbar. This will allow you to make your call to Dr. Shep, or any other friends and family you wish to call.
- To make Skype video calls, you must have a webcam that is part of your computer, or an external webcam that you can plug into your computer. Please make sure all your connections are secured.
- To make your call at your appointed time, press the Skype button in your toolbar. This will bring up a "contact list" for you. Since your account is new, it will probably be empty.
- Go to the search bar in your contact list. Type in "drschrepferman". You should find a directory listing for Dr. Shep pops up. Highlight his name by clicking on it, and click the "add" button. When his name appears in your contact menu, you can highlight it by clicking it. Then click the phone icon at the top of the screen, and his number will be dialed.
- Please be sure to face the webcam, so you can be seen. When we pick up on the other end, you should be able to see Dr. Shep in the video box on your Skype interface. When the call is completed, simply click the phone icon again to end the call.
